SENATE ADJOURNS SITTING TO MOURN LATE OLATOYE

In keeping with its tradition of adjourning plenary session to mourn a colleague that passes on whether in the Senate or House Representatives, the Senate, on Tuesday, March 12, 2019 adjourned sitting to honour late Hon. Temitope Olatoye, who represented Lagelu/Akinyele Federal Constituency of Oyo State on the platform of Action Democratic Party (ADP) in the House of Representatives, who died recently.
Accordingly, a minute silence was observed in honour of the deceased. The Senate prayed for the repose of the soul of late Hon. Olatoye and also condole with the family, people and government of Oyo State.
However, the Senate has announced a change in the leadership of its Ad-hoc Committee on National Minimum Wage Bill, 2019. The Senate Deputy Majority Whip, Sen. Francis Alimikhena has been named the new Chairman of the Committee and he replaces Senate Chief Whip, Sen. Shola Adeyeye.
Nevertheless, the Chamber deferred all items on the Order Paper to another legislative date and adjourned session in honour of late Hon Olatoye.
