HB. 1234 This Bill may be cited as Constitution (Alteration) Bill, 2017;, EXPLANATORY MEMORANDUM;, This Bill seeks to alter Sections 215 (1) (a) and 216 (2) respectively of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, 1999 (as amended) to make it a mandatory pre-requisite qualification that the Police Council shall nominate at least three most senior police officers experience within the Nigerian Police as candidates for the position of Inspector-General of Police before final appointment by the President of Nigeria.
