SB. 562 Federal Colleges of Education Bill, 2018;, EXPLANATORY NOTE;, This Bill seeks to establish the Federal Colleges of Education listed in Schedule 1 to the Act. The functions of each College, amongst other things are: (a) To provide full-time courses of teaching, instruction and training in technology, applied sciences, commerce, arts, social sciences, humanities, Law and management; (b) Carry out research in the development and adaptation of techniques as the Council may, from time to time, determine. The Act also provides for the appointment of a Provost to be the Chief executive of each College, Principal Officers and other members of staff. Other provisions relate to the discipline of students, finances, pensions of staff and supplementary matters: schedule 1 to the Act contains list of all the Federal Colleges of Education covered by the Act, while Schedule 2 thereof prescribes the terms of service of members of each Council and proceedings thereof.
