Legislator

Rt. Hon Dumnamere Robinson Dekor was born on the 24^th February 1968 in Beakogoro Beeri in Khana Local Government Area of Rivers State.

He attended State School, Beeri from 1974 – 1980, and the Federal Government College, Ugwulawo, Kogi State from 1980 – 1985. He also attended University of Port Harcourt where he obtained B.Sc. Hons in Geography in 1991.

He did his National Youth Service between 1992 and 1993 and worked briefly in Abuja and Port Harcourt before he was appointed into the Khana Local Government Council as a member of the Care-taker Committee. He held the post of Supervisor for Works from 2002 – 2003.

He was elected into the Rivers State House of Assembly in 2007 to represent Khana state Constituency II. His colleagues elected him as the Deputy Speaker of the House in 2008 and he held the office till 2011.

In 2015, he was elected into the House of Representatives where he represented Khana/Gokana Federal Constituency until 2016 when he was appointed as the Commissioner for works in Rivers State.

In 2019, he won election to represent Khana /Gokana Federal Constituency in the National Assembly.  He was appointed as the Chairman, house Committee on Host Communities and was also a member of several other communities.

In 2023, he was re-elected to represent Khana/Gokana Federal Constituency in the House. He was also re-appointed as the Chairman of the Committee on Host Committees, a position he is holding up till now. He is also a member of several other Committees of the House.

Proposing bills and representating motions that would ensure the upliftment of the standard of living of Nigerians.
