SENATE HOLDS VALEDICTORY SESSION IN HONOUR OF LATE SEN. MUSTAPHA BUKAR
Paying their last respect to a revered Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, distinguished Senators dedicated the sitting of Wednesday, April 11, 2018 to a Valedictory session in honour of Late Sen. Mustapha Bukar who died on the 4th of April, 2018 at the age of 64. Late Sen. Bukar until his death represented Katsina North Senatorial District in the Red Chamber. He was the Senate Committee Chairman on Capital Market. 

The Senate Leader, Ahmad Lawan (Yobe North) moved two Motions for the Chamber to allow the families of the deceased into the Chamber to witness the Valedictory Session and to lead the debate on the Late law-maker. Sen. Lawan paid glowing tributes to the Late Bukar, describing him as epitome of humility which the Chamber is going miss dearly.
More than 20 Senators paid glowing tributes to their late colleague among whom were the Senate President, Bukola Saraki, Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu, Senate Minority Leader, Godswill Akpabio, Deputy Minority Leader, Philip Aduda, Sen. Abu Ibrahim, Sen. Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, Sen. Yahaya Abdullahi, Sen. Foster Ogula, Sen. Enyinnaya Abaribe, Sen. Umar Kurfi, Sen. Yusuf Yusuf, Sen. Barau Jibrin, Sen. James Manager, Sen. Ibrahim Abdullahi Gobir, Sen. Jonah Jang, Sen. Shehu Sani, Sen. Dino Melaye, Sen. Abdullahi Gumel, Sen. John Enoh, Sen. Philip Gyunka, Sen. Mathew Urhoghide, Sen. Clifford Ordia and a host of other Senators.

The session which was filled with emotion and sober reflection climaxed with the adoption of two resolutions that include:
i) Observe a minute silence in honour of Late Sen. Mustapha Bukar.
ii) Senate to send a delegation to condole with the immediate families of the deceased, people and government of Katsina State over the loss.
